Manicomio Pizza Rebrands as Birdie’s Pizza Under New Ownership
Manicomio Pizza is officially under new ownership. Since opening in 2017, it quickly became a staple of the downtown food scene. Located at 27 Biltmore Avenue, the restaurant will be rebranded as Birdie’s Pizza.
The new concept comes from Justin Balzer, the sous chef at Postero in Hendersonville. While a menu has not yet been released, the company’s Instagram page indicates they will offer 20″ New York style pies and slices.
An official opening date has not been announced, but Birdie’s ABC permitting has been approved. Given the minimal modifications required to the building, it is likely to open in the not-too-distant future.
