Dogwood Family Medicine set to Permanently Close

Dogwood Family Medicine, a primary care provider located at 7 Yorkshire Street in Asheville, will be permanently closing as of June 30, 2025. In a letter to patients posted on its website, the clinic said it will continue to provide care “through the end of June,” but after that date “we will no longer be available for appointments or clinical services”. The notice did not specify a reason for the closure. The clinic’s staff thanked patients for their loyalty, writing “we are grateful for the trust you have placed in us over the years” and that it had been “our honor to care for you and your families”.

Dogwood Family Medicine was an independent family-practice clinic serving the Asheville area. It was part of the Raleigh Durham Medical Group Associates network of independent clinics. The practice, originally LifeWay Health, was established as a new clinic following the departure of LifeWay’s owner, Jackie Sitton.

The pending shutdown of Dogwood Family Medicine follows other recent clinic closures in the region and will reduce the number of primary-care options for Buncombe County residents. Dogwood recommends existing patients consider transferring to Family Care of Fairview or Biltmore Family Medicine.
