Asheville's Burton Street Park, located behind the Burton Street Recreation Center at 134 Burton Street, will be receiving several updates to modernize its aging facilities.
Under the proposed plans filed with the City of Asheville on January 29th, both existing basketball courts, the playground, and the gaga ball pit will be demolished in their entirety.

The upper basketball court will be replaced with an entirely new playground from Landscape Structures, a playground company from Minnesota.

The lower basketball court will be rebuilt entirely. This renewal project will also add several quality of life improvements to the park, including several additional concrete walkways and ADA compliant picnic tables. As of February 10th, the project is currently on a CO hold pending certification from the architect or engineer responsible for the project.
