Country Inn on Tunnel Road to rebrand as La Quinta
ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A well-known Tunnel Road hotel is preparing for a major rebrand.
The Country Inn & Suites at 199 Tunnel Road in East Asheville has filed plans with the City of Asheville for renovations tied to an upcoming rebrand into a La Quinta Inn & Suites.
The five-story property, built in 2003, is owned by Milan Hotel Group (MHG), a locally owned hospitality company. MHG acquired the hotel in 2013 for $5.7 million. Since then, it has operated under the Country Inn & Suites flag, part of the Radisson Hotel Group portfolio.
The hotel features more than 70 guest rooms, an outdoor pool, and on-site parking. Planned upgrades include changes to the front porte-cochère and updates to the interior hallways.
Situated less than a mile from the I-240 interchange and just east of downtown Asheville, the hotel has long served both business and leisure travelers. No timeline for the conversion has been announced.
